Pfc. Philip Rosen, 9th MG Co. 9th Infantry Photograph taken of Pfc. Philip Rosen, 9th MG Co. 9th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, AEF. in the uniform of a French "Poilu" upon his release from a German POW Hospital in November, 1918. Pvt. Rosen was captured during a nighttime enemy probing attack on his company's position during the Battle of the Aisne (Belleau Wood) on June 8th, 1918 and spend the rest of the war in a French POW Camp and upon his release after the Armistice he walked 150 Kilometers to Allied lines at Boval, Belgium and he then passed on the AEF HQ's at Chaumont, France for passaage home back to the United States in March, 1919.
