1.

The Allied Armies advance into GERMANY. The Xth French Army on our right marches on METZ; the Vth French Army on our left marches on BASTOGNE. Our 3rd American Army marches on LUXEMBORG, with the 4th Corps on the right and the 3rd Corps on the left.

The 2nd Division, as the left division, 3rd American Corps, the 32nd Division on its right, and the right division of the Vth French Army on its left, marches in the direction of LUXEMBOURG.

   
 
Boundaries:
   Southern Boundary:
JUVIGNY - IRE-les-SEC - VELOSNES - SIGNEULX HALANZY (all inclusive) MESSANCY (center)- HONDELANCE (exclusive) - AUTELBAS (exclusive) LINTGEN (exclusive) HEFFINGEN (inclusive).
 
   Northern Boundary:
MOUZON - CARIGNAN - FLORENVILLE, - JAMOIGNE ETALLE HABAY-les-NEUVE REDANGE - GROS-BOUS DIEKIRCH - WALLENDORF (all exclusive).
   
     The division marches in two columns. The left column consisting of:
 
4th Brigade
12th Field Artillery
Co."C", 2nd Engineers
Det. Military Police.
  marches via POUILLY - INOR OLIZY-au-CHIERS - LA FERTE-sur-CHIERS - MARGUT - MOIRY.
     The reserve, consisting of:
 
2nd Engineers (less 2 companies)
2nd F.A. Brigade (less 12th F.A. & 15th F.A.)
1st Field Signal Battalion
Headquarters Troop,
2nd Co.Mil.Police (less detachments).
  will follow right column.
   
II. The right column, Colonel J.C. Rhea commanding, will consist of the following troops:
 
3rd Infantry Brigade
1 Squadron 2nd Cavalry (less 3 tr.)
1 Company 2nd Engineers
15th Field Artillery.
Detachment Military Police.
  This column will march via STENAY - BAALON - CHAUVENAY - THONNE - MONTMEDY to billets.
   
III.    (a) Advance Guard, Lieut.Colonel Milo C. Corey, 23rd Infantry, Commanding:
 
1 troop 2nd Cavalry
1 Bn. 23rd Infantry.
1 Company 2nd Engineers.
1 Battery 15th Field Artillery.
 

The leading elements of the Advance Guard will clear STENAY at 5:30 hours, 17th November '18. Necessary mounted patrols will be sent to front and flanks. Liaison will be established and maintained with troops on right and left, and with the main body. Strong dismounted patrols will be sent out on flanks.

 

Every military precaution necessary to protect troops marching in hostile country will be taken.

(b) Main Body, in order of march:

 
23rd Infantry (less 1 Battalion)
1 Battalion 15th F.A. (less 1 Battery)
2 Companies 5th Machine Gun Battalion.
Brigade Headquarters.
9th Infantry
15th Field Artillery (less 1 Battalion.
 

The head of the 23rd Infantry (less 1 Battalion) will follow reserve of advance guard at 2 kilometers.

The Battalion of 15th Field Artillery now at STENAY will follow 23rd Infantry without distance.

The 5th Machine Gun Battalion (less two companies attached to 9th Infantry) will clear BEAUMONT at 6:45 hours.

The 9th Infantry will march at 7 hours.

The 15th Field Artillery, with head of column at BEAUMONT at 8 hours, will follow the 9th Infantry.

(c) Billets for night 17-18th November as follows:

 
Advance guard - on outpost duty  
    23rd Infantry (less 1 Bn.)  
    2nd Battalion 15th Field artillery )
    Headquarters 5th Machine Gun Bn. )MONTMEDY
       
    9th Infantry )
    15th F.A. - less 1 battalion )CHAUVENAY.
(d)

The advance guard, upon arrival, will establish an outpost along the general line AVIOTH -THONNE - VERNEUIL le PETIT - VERNEUIL le GRAND - VILLECLOYE.

(e)

Companies of the 5th Machine Gun Battalion normally attached to Battalions of 23rd Infantry will join those battalions upon arrival at MONTMEDY. These companies attached to Battalions of 9th Infantry will join those battalions at BEAUMONT before 7 hours 17th November, '18.

   
(x)

Lines of information will connect main axis of liaison at MONTMEDY with Brigade Headquarters, Headquarters of Regiments and the Commander of the outpost.

Units not connected by telephone will maintain one runner at Brigade Headquarters, 3rd Brigade, after 16 hours 17th November '18.

   
IV.

Compat wagons, rolling kitchens and water carts will accompany their units.

Field trains of units will be grouped one kilometer East of STENAY under Supply Officer, 9th Inf., and will follow the main body without distance.

Ration distributing point 17th November, - CHAVENEY-le-CHATEAU after 14:30 hours.

   
V.

Messages will reach column Commander at head of main body. P.C. 3rd Brigade at MONTEDY after 16 hours, 17th Nov. '18.
