Attigny (October 11, 1918 to October 27, 1918)

On October 10th, the Second Division was ordered to a new area near Chalons-sur-Marne to recruit and rest preparatory to the next campaign. The Second Field Artillery Brigade and the Second Engineers were detached and ordered to join the Thirty-Sixth Division, in pursuit of enemy to the Aisne river because the Thirty-Sixth Division had no Artillery or Engineers.

2nd Engineer map of the Champagne Sector 2nd Engineer map of the Champagne Sector showing the ground covered by the 36th Division and elements of the 2nd Division after Blanc Mont Ridge. This map is missing from most copies of History of The Second Engineers 1916-1919.

This rare, original copy of the map is in the book owned by Sergeant Jesse T. Hulbert, Co. "D" 2nd Engineers. It is noteworthy that Sgt. Hulbert is mentioned nowhere in either of the 2nd Engineer books.
