Nice group from Sgt. Earl L. Henry, HQ Company, 2nd
Engineers includes olive drab wool and olive drab cotton summer issue
tunics, each with "US" and Engineer discs (pinback on the
summer issue coat), attractive applied and embroidered 2nd Engineers
shoulder insignias with embroidered Indian head on white star applied
to black wool felt Engineer castle background. These also have Sergeant
rank chevrons, and one overseas service chevron on each. M1912 wool
tunic has a few scattered small moth holes, nothing significant or
detractive. Group also has Sgt. Henry's 1918 pattern olive drab wool
overcoat with the same shoulder insignia, rank chevron, and overseas
chevron. Also includes Sgt. Henry's US M1917 box respirator with
soft hose and stiff mask, complete with instruction card and anti-dimming
stick; dark khaki canvas "SIMMONS 1917" dated carrier.
Includes his 1917 dated mess kit, olive drab wool overseas cap with
Engineers disc, and a worn but displayable pair of M1912 olive drab
wool breeches. Sgt. Henry has his initials in the summer issue tunic
and his complete name inscribed in the overcoat and M1912 wool tunic. |
