Two French soldiers slightly wounded, one American soldier, Corporal Charles K. Toth, 122583, Company "D", missing. Efforts to locate him or his body unsuccesful [sic] to date.

Subject: Corporal Toth 122563 Charles K., Company "D", missing.

1. Corporal Toth 122583 Charles K., Company "D", a member of mixed patrol composed of three officers, 25 soldiers, this regiment, and one officer thirty soldiers French, 11th R.I., is reported missing.

2. This patrol, whose mission was to collect information and take prisoners, was under the command of Lieut. Mazieres, 11th R.I. Patrol left TRESAUVAUX at 12:15 a.m., 7 April and came in contact with enemy patrol of about thirty men. Enemy patrol immediately retreated and German signal for barrage fire was made. This barrage dropped between the mixed patrol and TRESAUVAUX and continued from 2:10 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. The last of the patrol did not return until 7 a.m. On report that Corporal Toth was missing two patrols made search for his body on front of our lines without result.
